A series of ravaging wildfires have broken out across Central Texas. Some of the worst have been in neighboring Bastrop, Texas, which is about 20 miles east of the future Circuit of the Americas site. According to the latest report from YNN News Austin, "the blaze now spans 34,356 acres and is 30 percent contained. So far, 576 homes have been destroyed, but that doesn’t include houses in areas that have been too hot for them to asses." Here is a video of just how rapidly these wildfires are spreading.

Earlier this week we decided to support the Capital Area Food Bank of Central Texas. The reason we chose CAFB is because "Every $1 donated provides $5 worth of nutritious food to Central Texas families." Your dollar goes a long way but it stays in Central Texas, resulting in immediate local relief to our neighbors. If you would like to make a donation via their website, please click here.

Tomorrow night we are supporting our friends at Austin Fashion Association at the W Austin hotel. We invite you to join us at the W as a central donation spot, where you can donate toiletries and other personal care items needed by the local shelters.

AFA and the W have also created a special cocktail, the "Texas Stong," and the W will donate $2 of each drink's proceeds to the American Red Cross of Central Texas.

We are currently working with the Capital Area Food Bank of Central Texas to make the event donation-friendly for the following:

  • Healthy, non-perishable food
  • Items with intact, un-opened, consumer or commercial packaging
  • Items with non-breakable packaging (no glass, please)
  • Food within the expiration date on the packaging

We will provide an update tomorrow as to the food drive accessibility.

Tomorrow night's event kicks off at 6:00PM at the W Austin hotel. The event will last until 11:00PM so that patrons participating in Fashion's Night Out in neighboring boutiques and shops may join us after their events.

We hope you can join us tomorrow evening to continue to help Central Texans in need as they battle this ongoing tragedy. Thank you for your outpouring of support!
